About the Role

Are you a detail-oriented lending professional who loves helping people achieve their financial and homeownership goals? PHEPLE FCU is looking for a Real Estate Loan Specialist to join our team!

In this dynamic, member-focused role, you’ll be the primary guide for our members seeking home equity solutions—from fixed-rate loans to HELOCs. You'll also partner with our third-party mortgage team to help guide members through the first mortgage process.

Key Responsibilities

• Member Advocacy & Advising: Interview members, evaluate loan requests, and guide them through home equity & HELOC options with clarity and care.

• Loan Processing: Gather and verify documentation, coordinate property appraisals/surveys, ensure regulatory compliance, and prepare complete files for approval.

• Mortgage Partnership: Serve as our internal point-of-contact for our third-party first mortgage partner, routing leads and streamlining member processes.

• Closing & Servicing: Schedule and conduct loan closings, disburse funds, file municipal records, and maintain accurate pipeline tracking.

• Relationship Building: Identify additional credit union products and services to enhance our members’ financial well-being.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 3 to 5 years of similar or related loan origination experience.

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• Notary: Current Pennsylvania Notary Commission (or willingness/ability to become licensed upon hire).

• Key Skills:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy, tact, and confidentiality.

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills for pipeline management.

  • Familiarity with general office tech and loan processing platforms.
